qualified Med/Surg RN in Charleston, West Virginia, 25304 Pay
Information $2,373 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Surgical / Telemetry Job
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of
RN experience; 1 year in specialty License: WV or Compact RN
License (pending license acceptable) Certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS
(via American Heart Association) Must-Have: - Experience with
post-cardiac catheterization and post-angiogram PTCA - Proficiency
with required drips: heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine,
dopamine, nitro Job Description: - Work in a 39-bed unit focusing
on cardiac conditions such as acute MI, unstable angina, CHF,
unstable arrhythmias, and other cardiac disorders - Care for adult
and geriatric patient populations - Participate in observation unit
with high turnover (36 hours or less) - Ratio of 1:5 for RN-patient
assignments; may increase to 6/7:1 if needed - Support LPN patient
back-up when patient ratios increase - Perform or assist with
procedures such as cardioversion, TEE, thoracentesis, bone marrow
biopsy, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and
paracentesis (preferred experience but not required) - Required to
work every other weekend - Limited holiday time-off requests to one
of the three major holidays - Be open to float within the scope as
necessary - Orientation involves 16 hours - Complete modules prior
to start; average 2-4 hours, varies by specialty - Participate in a
major teaching hospital environment with available resources and
